Wade learned just about everything he knows about leadership, management and security from when he served as a Platoon Commander in the U.S. Marine Corps; Wade served two combat deployments to Iraq and was personally decorated twice for valor;  He also a recipient of the Purple Heart.   Wade is active in his community and has served on the boards of the Shenandoah Memorial Hospital Foundation, the Virginia War Memorial Foundation, the Shenandoah Free Clinic, and Belle Grove Plantation.  Wade has a B.A. from the University of South Carolina and an M.B.A from Virginia Tech’s Pamplin School of Business.

First Job After College:  Infantry Officer in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Interesting Fact: Wade had his first short-term rental (STR) experience while attending a wedding in North Carolina in 2012, when his extended family booked a large house through V.R.B.O. The whole family enjoyed each other under one roof in an idyllic setting. Wade was so impressed with the experience that now he avoids hotels and stays at STRs whenever he travels for leisure.

Claire is responsible for meeting with new customers to listen to their needs, and for walking them through the onboarding process. Prior to joining Porchlight, Claire worked as a technical recruiter at Insight Global, in Vienna, Virginia.  Read More

Claire is a native of Shenandoah County, and has a B.A. from Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia.

First Job After College: Recruiter for Insight Global In Vienna, Virginia.

Interesting Fact: Claire’s extended family is well known in the Shenandoah Valley as one of the largest, most colorful and close-knit families around. Claire has 40 first cousins and over 60 second cousins. Every other Sunday night, around 150 family members gather at the French Family Cabin near Woodstock to share dinner, a family tradition that has been going since the 1960s.

Professional Biography:   Justin is an operations wizard, and can manage, operate or fix just about anything short of a space shuttle. Justin is active in his community, serving as past President of the Shenandoah County Farm Bureau, and serving on the boards of the Valley Foundation and Woodstock River Bandits baseball.   In 2016, Justin was named the “Citizen of the Year”, an award given by the Shenandoah County Chamber of Commerce for outstanding volunteer service to his community.  Justin has a B.S. in Animal Science from Virginia Tech.

First Job After College:  Quality control for Pilgrims Pride Corporation in the Shenandoah Valley.

Interesting Fact: Justin (also known as ‘Big County’) works hard to carry on his family’s cherished farming traditions. On several Saturdays every winter, Justin can be found on his family farm (with two dozen helpers) butchering hogs the old-fashioned way, and making hand-made sausage, scrapple, and pork chops for his family and friends.

Professional Biography:  Prior to joining Porchlight, Mary spent two years as the conference manager for Young Life‘s quadrennial all-staff conference, where she was responsible for managing the  transportation, housing and entertainment for nearly 5,000 employees from across the globe. Read More

Mary has spent most of her career in professional photography, specializing in weddings, engagements and family shoots. Mary founded  Mary Stafford Photography in 2010, and continues to enjoy her passion whenever she can.   Mary has a B.A. from the University of Virginia and is an M.F.A. candidate at the University of the South at Sewanee.

First Job After College:  Youth outreach for Young Life in Roanoke, Virginia.

Interesting Fact:  When Mary was in her twenties, she had a self-described “early-life crisis” and rode her bicycle (with saddle bags) across the country by herself on a budget of $7.00 per day, pitching a tent by night.  She finished her journey from Yorktown, Virginia to Spokane, Washington in 92 days.
